As you might already noticed that’s isn’t so easy to use new 27″ iMacs as external monitors because they have only Mini DisplayPort input on board. Kanex has showed an adapter that lets you plug external HD video sources to iMac on Macworld 2010. Such external device could be anything with HDMI output: Xbox 360, PS3, Blu-ray player and even a laptop. The video converted from HDMI to DisplayPort comes with no upscailing and in very good quality. The adapter is planned for launch in April, and will be available for $149.US.
